Navigating Through Work and People

In the workplace, working out what to do when is not an easy task. There is usually a lot to do: many goals to achieve, requiring a lot of things that need to be done by many people, in a changing situation.

Most tasks are relatively easy to plan and do in isolation, but contributing to many tasks at the same time creates considerable stress for most people. Keeping track of who is doing what when and reporting progress adds more stress. Physical separation and different time zones usually adds even more stress.

To work out how to best use their time, people use a mix of many types of personal and team management techniques: such as time management, task management, project management, strategic management, risk management, and issues management.

For most people creating a simple personal ToDo list is time consuming and difficult when they are the only person involved in a number of tasks, but keeping many peoples' personal ToDo lists synchronized is overwhelming.
