The Versatility Of Fiberglass Grating

Non slip surfaces have come a long way in recent years. Traditional materials like wood and steel have been superseded by modern materials. Perhaps the most effective and most popular material used today is fiberglass. It is extremely slip resistant and is durable in most conditions. Fiberglass grating used as a non slip flooring surface is also a very cost effective way of solving many problems which makes it even more attractive.

Fiberglass grating is a very good slip resistant surface. It's these properties coupled with the fact that it is a very versatile material that make it so popular in many different areas. It's not just used to combat icy conditions in traditional settings but is now regarded as a vital safety measure and a necessary consideration in many differing areas.

Transport Industry - Fiberglass grating offers a range of different uses to the transport industry. It can be used on a small scale to provide a link between two areas or it can be used on a larger scale to cover areas that are used by lots of people like railway platforms. Its ease of use also means it can be used as a temporary surface during the building of more permanent constructions.

This makes it attractive to everything from motorway construction to car parks. It is also fire resistant making it a very safe material to work with. Wherever there are naked flames or extreme heat conditions fiberglass comes in very useful as it cuts down the need for any extra precautions. Other materials, particularly wood, offer a solution but also come with added problems of their own in this respect.

Heavy Industry - Because of it's lightweight and impact resistant properties it is easy to transport Fiberglass grating and needs little maintenance once it is on the ground. This means that it is widely favored by heavy industries like mining, steelworks and many other factory based operations. It's ideal for walkways, gangways and areas where rigidity, durability and safety are paramount. Wherever there is heavy machinery it is very important that the risk of anything going wrong is minimized. This includes both the machinery itself and the people operating it. A good surface to work on is the basis for all subsequent safety considerations.

Ports and Boats - Modern fiberglass grating has many useful properties not least of which is the fact that it is chemical resistant. This means that it is also useful in many areas that need to be given extra care and attention.

The chemical industry, shipping and freight haulage all use fiberglass grating in environments that come up against materials and elements that could prove destructive or dangerous to more traditional materials. Everything from sea water to corrosive cleaning materials can cause problems to surfaces that are used regularly. Fiberglass grating provides a long lasting and safe way to treat an area where this is a factor. It's non slip so it is used for the construction of pontoon surfaces, decking and ramps.

As well as being used as a simple flooring options for walkways, ramps and access points it can also be used in conjunction with design and engineering. This means it can become an integral part of a construction and be used in stairs, gully covers, bridges, vent grills and screens. In fact there is very little that the material does not lend itself to.

As well as large industries benefiting from fiberglass grating, smaller and even domestic environments are now also benefiting. With the demand for outdoor pools and Jacuzzi on the increase the use of fiberglass grating for wash bays, walkways and decking has also increased.
